Turn up. Scan. Play.
First out in our series on what will always be free in the Petanque Life player app: social games — from "shall we play?" to a finished draw in under a minute.
Fifteen of you on the gravel on a Tuesday evening. Someone says, "let's make it a proper little tournament." You know what happens next: someone hunts for a pen, someone tears a sheet of paper into draw slips, and someone promises to keep the results "in their head".
Here's the same evening with Petanque Life.
One phone starts the game. Everyone scans.
Whoever takes the initiative opens the player app, starts a social game and holds up a QR code. Everyone else scans it with their own app — and that's it, you're in. No name lists, no typing, no "what's your email again?". Ten seconds, and the whole group is registered.
The host keeps it simple — or takes charge.
The person showing the QR code is the game's host. Playing a club evening with a small fee? The host can tick off who has paid, right in the list of players who joined. Then one tap runs the draw — new teams every round, mêlée style, or fixed teams all evening; paired for variety or by the standings. Your choice.
Teams your way — and standings that follow you.
Come as a ready-made team and join together, or turn up on your own and let the draw decide. And when teams are re-drawn every round, the standings are kept per player — your teammate may change, but your place in the table is always your own.

Everyone reports. Opponents confirm.
When a match ends, any player can enter the result in their own app. The opponent confirms it with a single tap — and if there's ever a disagreement (this is petanque; of course there is), the host has the final word.
Every game counts.
Games like these become part of your history in the app: results, statistics, and who you play best with. Not because anyone demands it — but because it's fun to watch your season take shape.
Social games are part of the free player app — for every player, at every level. No club membership required. No subscription.
